Prue Hamill AREINZ
Managing Director & AuctioneerBorn and educated in Masterton Prue was the third generation to attend St Matthew’s Collegiate School. Her entire thirteen years of schooling was at St Matthews and so it was of no surprise that her daughters followed the family tradition .On leaving school she left the area and joined the New Zealand Army and became a commissioned Officer. “ The services had a huge impact on my life. We underwent continual training and worked together as a team, caring for one another as a large family. We were challenged and took personal responsibility knowing what was expected of us.” After resigning from the services Prue had various catering types of businesses and returned home to Masterton in 1984, as she wanted her children to enjoy extended family living and the environment within which she knew. “My grandmother was a very important part of my life. She was a very strong woman with wonderful values and I loved and respected her immensely.” Prue is very proud of the beauty and lifestyle Wairarapa offers. She considers herself very fortunate to have been born here. Prue is married to Paul who is a Director of Accord Plastics. They live a very busy lifestyle enjoying travel and sport. Prue sponsors many sports including the Harcourts Premier Netball team. She has four daughters, two step daughters and seven grandchildren, six of which are living locally. “ All my daughters have lived outside the Wairarapa so having them all return home has been absolutely wonderful.” Prue has always worked and her career paths have varied. Upon selling “Tellers Restaurant” in 1989 she decided to sell real estate and within the first year of sales Prue achieved national top 5% recognition. She became a Business Partner of another Brand and then in 1997 she purchased the Harcourts Wairarapa Franchise from Pat Mahony. Prue had huge respect for Pat and appreciated his behind the scene support until he tragically died in 1999. Pat had set up the first Harcourts Franchised office. There are now in excess of 640 offices and 180 nationally. In her 16th year of ownership she has a strong passion for the industry and believes in high standards with a personal hands on attitude. She has experienced all sorts of market conditions and has learnt to adapt. “ I work continually on how best we can provide our clients with better means of achieving top results.” High standards and strategic thinking is second nature to her. “Goal setting and business planning has us striving for exceptional results. Our clients come first and our values are based around doing the right thing! What is right for the client, will be right for the company, and in turn will be right for the salespeople. We are proud to be in a company where people come first. The Harcourts slogan GLOBAL . NATIONAL . LOCAL . Our business is all about people.” Prue has been a Licensed Auctioneer for the past 14 years. She has called in excess of 800 property auctions. Andrew McMurdo
Sales & Marketing SpecialistBorn in Canada in 1987 was the start of my journey in this world, this ongoing journey has taken me many places around this world. Having lived in such places like Scotland, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Dubai (to name a few) and travelled everywhere in between. In 2003 I returned to the shores of New Zealand (having lived in Dunedin and Dargaville in the past) but this time it was Christchurch's time to have me. As I found out, Christchurch is the Mecca for rock climbing in New Zealand and I fell in love with the sport, it taught me many things about myself. The last 4 years that I was in Christchurch I was a qualified Abseil ropetech doing building repairs and general building maintenance. After the earthquakes, needless to say the job got a little more interesting (loved the added challenge though.) Property was always an interest of mine and when my property goals in Christchurch got shaken apart, the opportunity to join Prue Hamill and her amazing team at Harcourts arose and I couldn't turn it down. Having been to Masterton before (as my parents live here) I knew how beautiful the area was and my fiancee Laura and I jumped at the chance to get here! So that's the edited story of Andrew McMurdo. I can't wait to hear your story and help you reach your goals and property dreams! Ian Kiernan
Sales & Marketing SpecialistNihil Timendum Est (Fear Nothing) It took seven years from the first time I started looking until I managed to purchse my first property so apprectiate how hard it is to get your first home. With seven years' experience buying, renovating and renting out property I have gained investment experience and have now decided to make real estate a career. One of my favourite mottos is Nihil Timendum Est which means "fear nothing" and is a motto I wear with pride. I believe you can try and fail and learn but id you don't try you will never learn and never move forward. With a strong and supportive Tuhoe wife and four children under the age of six plus two stepdaughters I'm not lacking in motivation or strength to achieve results. More comfortable doing deals on the street than in an office let me bring my office to you and deal with you where you're comfortable. I need properties to sell so if you're looking to sell give me a yell and if you're looking to buy give me a try.

Rebecca Mellon
Sales & Company DevelopmentI was lucky enough to have been born and raised in Masterton, Wairarapa. I am the youngest of three girls. My mother (Prue) has distilled many attributes in me and all to this day show, passion, honesty, determination, setting personal high standards and achieving them (only to name a few). I have a wonderful step-father (Paul) who I have learnt that if I put my mind to something and believe in it then it will happen. My father (George) taught me the meaning of humour and to always look on the brighter side of life and that the glass is always half full! My family is extremely close-knit and mean the world to me. I was schooled at St Patrick’s primary school and went on to St Matthew’s Colligate. Right through my schooling I was involved in a wide variety of sports but had a love for athletics and netball. From a young age I was part of the Harcourts team, I started cleaning the offices after school and then went onto being an administrator in the weekend. After I finished school I lived in Wellington for a year and studied at Sir George Seymour College of Travel and Tourism. I graduated from there with distinction in Advanced Business, Travel and Tourism. I moved back to Masterton and was fortunate enough that a position was available as an administrator at Harcourts so grabbed the opportunity with two hands and started full time in 2007. Come end of 2008 my love of travel and wanting to reach out in the great unknown came into play and I decided (much to my families surprise) to have a year abroad and move to Bossey, France, a little village on the fringe of Geneva, Switzerland. I went over and was a full time, live in au pair (nanny) to Sebastian (3 years old) and Oscar (6 months). Mid 2009 I was given a great job opportunity working at the International Labour Organisation (a UN specialised agency which seeks the promotion of social justice and internationally recognised human and labour rights). My contract ended, end of 2009, and by this time I was ready to come home. I have a family who work in the industry and are passionate about real estate and I believe… “Real estate is in my blood!”
