Bruce Wallis

I have been a Property Manager for six years, a team member under the Harcourts name. My working career started in the BNZ then overseas in Australia working for BHP for two years. England was the next stop for six years, mainly travelling and working for a large tour operator in England, Europe and eventually New Zealand. I continued working in the Tourist industry until 1990 when I bought a retail business in New Plymouth to be closer to my family. I sold this in 1998 and went back to Auckland for three years, back into tours again. I brought my first investment property in 1987 in Auckland and now have another eleven in New Plymouth. My interests are property investing, travelling, trout fishing, community involvement and most of all property management. I am enjoying working with a large, friendly and professional team at Harcourts.

Rodney Lay

I have been born and bred in New Plymouth and have lived in the same house since 1960. When I got married my mother moved out and my wife, Karen, moved in. We have raised two sons – both now live and work in Wellington, I came from a family involved in the timber business, where I worked for quite a number of years, and I have also worked at McKechnie Metals extruding copper tube. I also ran a property and maintenance business for a number of years. After buying my first rental property in 1996, I have continued slowly building up my property portfolio. I joined the Taranaki Property Investors Association of which I am still a member today. I have been in Real Estate for a number of years now as a Property Manager, run the Rental Division at Harcourts New Plymouth. My interests include managing and improving my properties, gardening and walking my Bichon Frise dog.
