Jan’s commitment to investors and tenants alike, as well as her passion for working in her local community has allowed her to build a portfolio of satisfied clients over the past 11 years that she has spent at Harcourts Beachlands Real Estate Limited.
Born, raised and educated in South Auckland, Jan previously worked in the importing and exporting industry at Auckland airport, where she became experienced in dealing with challenging work and a fast pace of daily life; valuable skills for her future career in property management.
Jan soon moved to Beachlands with her son and daughter, who attended Beachlands School and Howick College. “We chose this area to live as we felt it was a wonderful environment to raise the children” says Jan, who enjoys spending time with family and friends, the spring and summer seasons, reading, cooking, dining out, boating and overseas travel.
“I had always wanted to live and work in my local community” Jan says, who joined Harcourts Beachlands Real Estate Limited in 2001 where she worked in all areas of the real estate industry, before choosing to specialise in property management. “Property management for me is all about people, service and relationships.” Regularly attending training seminars as well as working with the principal of Beachlands Real Estate, who has over 35 years of extensive real estate experience, has given Jan valuable knowledge and information about the industry.
Jan is committed to offering owners a range of services to ensure that their properties are being cared for and that they are kept well informed of what is happening in the rental industry. Her broad local knowledge allows this information to be on hand for owners as required. “I enjoy presenting, on behalf of the owners, their investment property to prospective tenants who wish to live in this area” Jan says.
Equally, Jan prioritises open lines of communication with tenants at all times, keeping them up to date on the trends in the rental market. With a vast network of Harcourts offices, Jan is able to help clients find something to suit their individual needs locally, as well as all over New Zealand and Australia. “I see people daily who know what they would like in a property they wish to rent, I usually sit down and talk about what their needs are and also what their wishes are,” says Jan, “and when I find something that meets their needs, I also share their enthusiasm.”
“Property management requires a vast amount of organisational and time management skills on a daily basis” says Jan. Jan’s experience in the industry has led to these demands becoming “second nature”, allowing her to build on her current portfolio as well as maintaining relationships with clients. “The Pohutukawa Coast is truly a wonderful place to live and I am proud to be part of this community.”
